Get Stuck Into the 2026/27 Hoddesdon Cricket Club Fantasy Premier League

The new Fantasy Premier League season is officially live – and Hoddesdon Cricket Club’s very own Mini League is back for another year!

Whether you’re an FPL obsessive who spends August studying expected goals and fixture difficulty ratings, or the sort of manager who picks a team five minutes before the deadline because you recognise the players’ names, we want you involved. Assemble your squad, take on your clubmates and friends, and put yourself in the running for bragging rights and a share of the prize money!

How to Get Involved

1. Head over to the FPL website HERE and build your 15-man squad.

2. Once your squad is ready, click HERE to pay the £5 entry fee. We’ll then send you the Hoddesdon CC Mini League code so you can get yourself signed up.

You’ll be part of the action quicker than a VAR decision that nobody in the ground actually understands.

Prize Pot Breakdown

  • 1st Place – 50% of the total entry fund
  • Runner-Up – 20%
  • Cup Champion – 20%
  • 10% goes towards payment processing and administration costs

The 2026/27 Premier League season kicks off on Friday 21 August, with defending champions Arsenal welcoming newly-promoted Coventry City to the Emirates Stadium at 8pm. Crucially for Fantasy managers, the Gameweek 1 deadline is 6.30pm, so make sure your tinkering is finished before the real football gets underway.

Every manager once again starts with a £100 million budget to build a squad of 15 players, with unlimited transfers available right up until the opening deadline. That means there is still time to tear up your team completely, rebuild it, decide you hate it, put the original one back together and then change everything again ten minutes later.

And this season there are some enormous decisions to make.

Do you somehow find room for Erling Haaland, who starts 2026/27 at a record-breaking £15.5m? Can you afford Bruno Fernandes at £12.0m alongside him, or will that leave you desperately hunting through the bargain basement for the other 13 members of your squad?

Perhaps Cole Palmer at £9.5m offers the route into Chelsea’s attack, while Arsenal stars such as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel will also have managers reaching for the calculator. Alexander Isak, meanwhile, offers another enticing premium option up front without quite requiring the sale of your entire midfield to accommodate him.

Then come the decisions that really separate the contenders from the rest. Which £4.5m midfielder is secretly about to become the greatest player in Premier League history? Which defender will you confidently select because of his attacking potential, only to discover he spends the first six weeks of the season sitting on the bench?

There are also three new clubs to consider following the promotions of Coventry City, Hull City and Ipswich Town. Somewhere among the promoted sides could be the budget gem that everyone owns by October – the trick is finding him before everybody else does.

Formation, captaincy and squad structure will all come into play. Do you pile the money into midfield, spend big on two premium forwards, load up on attacking defenders or simply stick the armband on Haaland every week and hope for the best?

That is the beauty – and occasional misery – of Fantasy Premier League. One inspired captaincy choice can make your weekend, while a 90th-minute consolation goal can wipe out three clean sheets and leave you wondering why you ever bothered playing.

Whatever your approach, don’t miss your chance to take part in the Hoddesdon Cricket Club Fantasy Premier League for 2026/27. There’s money to be won, reputations to be made, friendships to be severely tested over dubious bonus points and, most importantly, 38 Gameweeks of club banter ahead.

Pick your squad and join the league today by clicking HERE.

Good luck – and may your transfers be wise, your differentials actually play and your captaincy choices be inspired!
